This year just might be the first year in a long time that I truly am excited for Christmas. 2017, so far, has been all kinds of wonderful to me. As a result, I can spend Christmas morning waking up in my own house with my dogs, before driving up to a local dog shelter to spend a few hours of my Christmas volunteering with the dogs, and finishing up with hopefully having Christmas dinner with the family. To me, that’s kind of the perfect Christmas. December is fast approaching and I’m yet to start my Christmas shopping but I did kick-start the festive season early by attending the Very Party for a merry Very Christmas day last weekend (dya see what I did there?).

The Very Party began with my first time driving on the motorway. Seeing as I’d only gotten my car 4 days prior to be jumping onto the motorway for the first ever time, it’s safe to say I was feeling a little bit nervous. I was even more nervous upon realising I’d have my 11 year old cousin in the car with me! My sense of direction absolutely fails me but we managed it! Apart from one accidental red light run, we made it to Liverpool to enjoy the festive party with Very and honestly, I quite enjoyed driving on the motorway. Now, time to get festive…

This year’s ladies festive wear by Very was all the sparkles, sequins and velvet you could ever dream of. I’m a huge fan of textures and details when it comes to clothing so was in absolute awe at almost every piece I saw in the Very collection. Whilst I don’t have many (read: any) parties lined up for this years Christmas season, that doesn’t mean I can’t lust after all the partywear. Whilst lusting after partywear, I couldn’t help but notice the Ted Baker rose gold heels and how much I needed them in my life.

The V by Very sequin jumpsuit is divine and although I’d often steer clear of a deep v-neck cut (the joys of tiny boobs), I’m convinced my wardrobe needs this jumpsuit.

Moving away from the amazing lines of party wear and towards something a little more me – jumpers, fur coats and all the cosiness. If you know me, you’ll probably know that I’m cold every second of the day. I even got goosebumps when in 30 degree heat in Los Angeles. Thanks to be abnormal sub-zero body temperature, I truly appreciate cosy clothes. Pass me a pair of leggings, comfy trainers and world’s biggest jumper any day.

Thanks to Very, I can still look chic whilst wrapping up warm in a jumper this Christmas. Please can we all agree that A/W 2017 is the dreamiest season for jumpers? There’s so many cute styles out there from billowed sleeves and ribbon ties to embellished detailings. I fell in love with this grey pearl embellished jumper in the Very Petite range. I couldn’t help but thinking the pearl jumper would go perfectly with the light pink pearl bag. Though I’m usually a take-my-whole-life-in-a-giant-backpack kind of girl, since getting my car I’ve discovered the wonders of not having to carry everything I own with me everywhere I go. So, it’s about time I treat myself to a pretty yet small bag, right?

As mentioning near the start of this post, where I detailed my fear for the M58, I’d brought my 11 year old cousin along to the event. So we also took some time to have a nosy at the girls clothes for the festive season.

I’ll hold my hands up and say that I probably ‘oohed’ and ‘aahed’ over the dresses and boots more than she did. Please tell me that it’s acceptable for a 24 year old woman to wear a tulle-skirt dress and bow-detailed chelsea boots during the day?! I also adored a velvet and pearl embellished dress by River Island. My cousin eyed up a few of the dresses and I have a feeling she might be requesting a new festive frock for Christmas now…

The Very Party wasn’t all about clothes. They had some lovely girls from the brands Illamasqua, Skin Doctors and Lola Rose. The girls at Illamasqua talked us through some of their festive eye-palettes, which were gorgeous, and also gave my little cousin a little highlight glow. We popped by later on in the day to watch a spotlight festive eye-look and it had me feeling a little bit more confident in braving eyeshadow. I normally play it safe with eye make-up out of fear of looking like I’ve got two black eyes but after paying close attention to their girls tips and the necessity for blending, I just might attempt a few festive eye-looks this Christmas season!

Over at the Skin Doctors stand, I was intrigued by their Potent Vit C. Day Ampoules. As a girl who really cares about having a good skincare routine, these looked amazing. Although the beads are tiny, they pack a punch when it comes to skincare. You actually get a generous amount of serum in each bead,  perfect for the colder months when your skin will really appreciate that little bit extra.

Thanks to the vitamin C this serum really helps boost skins collagen, hydration, illumination and protects against antioxidants. They certainly jumped onto my wish-list for Christmas.

My younger cousin, my sister and I were all eyeing up the Lola Rose bracelets. I think we’ve all mentally popped one of those on our Christmas lists this year. Tiny wrists are in our genetics so we were delighted to discover that Lola Rose bracelets fitted us all perfectly. The delicate, dainty style was absolutely gorgeous too.

After a fun, festive day with the Very team and catching up with some of my favourite Liverpool bloggers, it was time to embark on the journey back home. The journey home was slightly eventful with a few wrong turns, unexpected country roads and unreliable sat-navs, but again we all made it back home in one-piece! Once home, it was time for me to grab a cup of tea and nosy through the lovely gift bag from the event.

I’m always sooo grateful to walk away from an event with a gift bag and the Very goodies definitely didn’t disappoint. Featuring a christmassy bath bomb from BombCosmetics, festive hand soap from Baylis and Harding, gradual tan by St Tropez, Elegant Touch nail varnish and so many more treats. It’s safe to say I felt spoilt by the festive Very elves and had an amazing day.

Now, is it acceptable for me to start my Christmas shopping by buying 9371 gifts for myself from Very?
