If you keep up to date with my ramblings on twitter you might know that I’m in the process of buying my first house. It’s all very exciting and very adult! As well as doing the sensible things like budgeting, paperwork and having meetings, I’ve also been going crazy for homeware. I’m talking wishlists galore. One room that can be easily refreshed from season to season is the bedroom. To keep myself inspired for the big move, I’ve put together three of my favourite looks for a quick and pretty budget-friendly bedroom style. The best part…all you need to do is switch up the bedspreads, throws, cushions and a couple of decorative accessories to create a whole new look!
PRETTY IN PINK (AND GREY)
No bedroom look is complete without a throw or two. I don’t know about you but I love layering textures to add extra dimensions. This charcoal chunky knit blanket looks just perfect for cocooning yourself in on a rainy Sunday afternoon! Layer this at the foot of your bed with a silky pink quilted throw to create the most charming Scandi style. Add a sheepskin rug to bedroom floor and some copper accessories to tie it all together. Ah, it’s just hygge-perfection!
RETRO RISE AND SHINE
CHAMPAGNE CHIC
Whilst I may not drink champagne, I am a huge fan of the colour! With golden tones, sequins and sparkle, you can easily turn your bedroom into a boudoir. This Kylie Minogue bedspread is something else. It instantly creates a luxurious vibe for the bedroom. I can totally picture myself snuggling under the glitzy duvet in silky pjs and a plate of homemade pancakes. Because I’m all about layers, this bedding just has to be paired with a silky quilted champagne throw and a luxurious faux mink throw – both from Yorkshire Linen. Quilted bed throws at Yorkshire Linen are great for a warm and cosy bedroom.
For this look, I would keep the rest of the details minimal. After all, sometimes less really is more. Wilko have these gorgeous champagne sequin cushions that would compliment this bedding in the most perfect way. This bedding really does speak for itself…though adding a glitzy light fitting won’t harm either.
So, from scandi chic to retro bright patterns to champagne sparkle, it really is simple to refresh your bedroom. As I am buying my first home, I have a lot of huge expenses to account for so I’m all about making my house a home without breaking the bank. Accessorising is key and switching up bedspreads and throws really does make it easy to create a whole new look.
So tell me, what are your favourite homeware looks and how will you be accessorising this season?
