Mary Kate Olsen inspired oversized fashion

Oversized Chic like Mary-Kate Olsen

I am in love with anything oversized right now. Seriously, I want anything and everything 20x bigger than usual. Cardigans? Make them bigger. Tshirts? Baggier. Coffee cup? Even bigger! Maybe it’s the effects of winter rubbing off on me, but I want maximum comfort and in my eyes, that means wearing everything oversized. That way, I will be happily drowning in a sea of cloth.

Now obviously, when I mention my love for oversized clothes. I want to keep a sort of chic appeal to it. The obvious fashion icon example? Mary-Kate Olsen. When it comes to the oversized chic style, she is the Queen of it. So for this look, you just have to reach deep and unleash your inner Olsen. And honestly, who doesn’t want to be an Olsen?

The Olsen twins have been my fashion idols since I was a little kid! I remember watching their films and tv shows wishing I was Mary-Kate. When I was younger, I also used to wear my beloved Olsen twin skirt at every given opportunity.

So, I’m going to tune into that much loved Olsen style once again. I’m making everything bigger and better. I will be sporting oversized boyfriend coats, cozy blanket capes, long baggy shirts, big chunky jumpers, and of course a large bag to match.

You can offset the oversized layers with a pair of skinny jeans (preferably black and distressed) or leggings. Or if you’re in a super cozy mood then max out that oversized look and go for a bonded midi skirt, floaty maxi skirt or palazzo trousers. This will be sure to add a boho twist to the style. No matter what I’m wearing this season, I’ll be making sure it’s oversized like MK. It’s the ultimate effortless chic style.

What do you think of Mary-Kate Olsen’s style?

That's so true! For as long as I can remember they've sported the baggy, distressed and oversized look, and it's still working to this day 🙂
